Honesty
Honesty means always telling the truth, even when it's hard. God loves when we are honest because it shows we trust Him and respect others.
"The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy."
— Proverbs 12:22
Bible Story: Ananias and Sapphira
Acts 5:1-11
Ananias and Sapphira sold some land and told everyone they gave all the money to the church, but they kept some for themselves and lied about it. God knew the truth, and they faced serious consequences for lying. This story teaches us that God always knows the truth, and honesty is very important to Him.
How to Practice Honesty
- Tell your parents the truth, even if you made a mistake
- Don't take credit for something you didn't do
- Admit when you break something instead of hiding it
- Be honest about your homework and schoolwork
- Return things that don't belong to you
Let's Talk About It
Why is it sometimes hard to tell the truth?
How do you feel after you tell the truth, even when it's hard?
What can happen when people lie to each other?
Let's Pray Together
Prayer
Dear Jesus, help me to always tell the truth, even when I'm scared or worried. I know You love honesty and that lying hurts others. Give me courage to be truthful in everything I say and do. Amen.
