Prayer Jar Craft

Ages 5-12 ⏱️ 25 minutes 📋 Easy

📖 Bible Connection

Lesson: Prayer is talking to God! We can tell Him anything - our worries, our thanks, and our requests. A prayer jar helps us remember to pray and see how God answers!

Key Verse: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6

🛠️ Materials You'll Need

  • 1 clean glass jar with lid (mason jar works great!)
  • Decorative paper or paint
  • Stickers, ribbons, or other decorations
  • Small pieces of paper or index cards cut into strips
  • Markers or pens
  • Glue

📝 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Clean Your Jar

Make sure your jar is clean and dry. Remove any labels.

Step 2: Decorate the Outside

Paint your jar or cover it with decorative paper. Add stickers, ribbons, or draw designs with markers. Make it special!

Step 3: Add a Label

Write "Prayer Jar" or "My Prayers" on the jar so everyone knows what it's for!

Step 4: Prepare Prayer Slips

Cut small pieces of paper into strips. Keep them near your jar with a pen.

Step 5: Start Praying!

When you have a prayer request, write it on a slip of paper with the date and put it in the jar. Pray about it!

Step 6: See God's Answers

When God answers a prayer, take out that slip and write "Answered!" on it. Keep answered prayers in a special place to remember God's faithfulness!

💭 Talk About It

  • What kinds of things can we pray about?
  • Does God always answer prayers the way we want?
  • Why is it important to thank God for answered prayers?
